As the founder and President of Loving Kimmy, Inc, I have experienced a journey that few others have. Current statistics on Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease, and other forms of early onset dementia demonstrate a continued growth in cases, and as of now, there is still no cure.  Add to that the reality that many people are choosing to focus on careers first and having a family second, and you have a formula for more families that will have children later in life. What does this mean? Well, when Early Onset Dementia, or other diseases or medical conditions affect a family with younger children, the children find themselves in a stressful environment and may suffer, psychologically and emotionally.

With family caregivers focusing on the person who is ill, the healthy children in the family can be adversely affected. I have first hand experience in this arena as my children were just nine and four years old when my wife Kimmy was diagnosed.
